LEARNSublime's Brides...{are madly in love}{have a quirky side, or at least a side that appreciates Lindsay's quirky side}{may be more gorgeous than they think}{tend to look even more gorgeous through Lindsay's lens}I...have been in the profession of capturing images and telling stories for more than a decade. Fresh out of college, a television station in the mountains of Appalachia actually let me run around with a really expensive video camera and a microphone to report local news. And --get this-- they PAID me for it. Yeah. I was then encouraged by my brother-in-law, a highly-awarded newspaper photographer, to pick up a film Nikon and start taking still pictures. He taught and mentored me until he felt I could be pushed out of the nest and go on my way. In the meantime, I went on to work for the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, where I got to cover events as diverse as the State of the Union Address and the Country Music Association awards. I still occasionally take freelance commissions for print, photojournalism and television work. All of which is to say, I have the training, the eye, and the discretion of a photojournalist. But I have the heart of an artist. A really fun, unpretentious artist. The thing I adore about documenting weddings is the joy I see, everywhere, on that day. Joy in the eyes of an enchanting bride, joy in the kisses planted on the cheek of an old friend, joy even in the tears of a mother watching her daughter drive away with a man she can trust to love her sweet girl forever. Sharing that with you--capturing it for you--it is an honor. It is a joy of my own.It is, truly, Sublime.
