Snow day!

January 20th, 2008

If you know Atlanta, you know that we rarely get snow. Because we don’t see it too often, snow days are big here. Yes, we may only get an inch of snow that melts in an hour, but you better believe we have stocked up on milk and bread. Growing up in CT, I grew up playing in the snow, so I couldn’t wait until Liam got his first experience with it. Snow days are great because you get to relax a bit and take things slower because you usually can’t go anywhere. Here is what we did on Liam’s first real snow day.

If you love offbeat, quirky movies like I do…

…then don’t miss Juno. Juno is one of those it-is- so-cheesy-that-it’s-brilliant kinda films. And Michael Cera is adorable. If you don’t know who this kid is, I am sure you will because he has incredible comedic timing. (You might remember him as the sidekick in the movie Superbad.) Anyways, it was definitely worth the $10.

My new addiction

I stumbled across this site and thought it might be great for finding unique wedding favors. The site is called Etsy. Etsy is an online boutique where artists can sell their handmade goods. How cool is that? I found some great greeting cards and these neat Japanese-inspired gift tins. The site is really easy to navigate (and easy to spend hours online surfing). Just thought I would pass it along. Japanese gift tins

January’s picture of the month

January 1st, 2008

I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of 2008. I love starting the new year fresh and ready to begin gearing up for a new season, so today I am cleaning my office. Yes, I know it isn’t too exciting, but for some reason a clean desk really makes me happy. Today it is 40 degrees in Georgia, which makes even easier to stay in. This year, I thought I would try something new to get the year started, so I want to start a picture-of-the-month. If you want to submit your own, I might feature yours next month.

  1. If you want to save it as your desktop wallpaper, just click on the image.
  2. This should bring the image up in a new window.
  3. Right click and save the image to your desktop.
  4. Go into your computer’s control panel (preferences for Mac).
  5. Click on “display or “wallpaper.”
  6. From there, locate your image on your desktop. Enjoy!
