Office makeover part I

April 26th, 2008

Cloverdale Paint

My office is in desperate need of a makeover. Right now, it is a just a place to work. There’s nothing special about it, no pictures, no plants, not even a snapshot of my son to be found, and it is starting to remind me of my cubicle days. Eek.

So, today is painting day. I picked up some paint called “Sour Lime.” I thought I would do something a little bright and cheerful, and I hope it does the trick. I am so indecisive about paint and have get major buyer’s remorse, so I am crossing my fingers.

Good assistants are hard to come by

April 23rd, 2008

David is one of those people who always helps others without needing anything in return. He is just one of those kind-hearted, genuine guys, which is one of the biggest reasons I married him. He rarely gripes when I ask him to help out, and some of you might not know this, but he also often pitches in on shoots. He carries my bags, shoots when necessary, holds my reflector, which he kindly calls the sail because it is hard to hold when the wind picks up, and does it all with a smile on his face. So, I had to write a little thank you because I want him to know just how appreciated he really is. Thanks for being a great assistant and, more importantly, biggest cheerleader. Love you babe.

Ashley and Jeffrey’s engagement portraits

April 21st, 2008

This past weekend I shot Ashley and Jeffrey’s engagement session. The light was amazing and you really can’t beat 70 degrees on a spring afternoon. Ashley and Jeffery were so playful and easy that I almost forgot I was working. Thanks for coming out and playing and I will see you in October! Here is a little sneak peek:

Courtney’s bridal

April 15th, 2008

Courtney was so easy to shoot. She worked it like a pro and even laughed at my jokes (big bonus.) Courtney is getting married in May in Mexico, so she wanted to have some portraits taken before the wedding. At first, the weather wasn’t really cooperating, but toward the end we lucked out and the sun broke through.

New rain jacket

April 3rd, 2008

It is spring in Georgia. Flowers are really starting to bloom and we can finally get outside. Goodbye cabin fever! Usually it rains like crazy here in April, but with last year’s drought, we barely got any rain. This year, I got a little ahead of myself and bought Liam an actual rain coat. It came with cute little rain boots (which of course I forgot to get pictures of.) Here’s hoping that he will get some use out of it this year.
